Cheap Music

I recall Gizmodo mentioning the site allofmp3.com a few months back, and he mentioned it again recently. I decided to go over there and check it out. Very cool. You select the file format (mp3, wma, ogg, flac, and many more choices) and quality (128, 192, or 320 for mp3's) and then download the music. Instead of being charged by the song or the album though you are charged by the bandwith. And it's only 1¢ per megabyte!

I just downloaded the following albums in their entirety: Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady; DeVotchka - SuperMelodrama; DeVotchka - Una Volta; Laibach - Kapital; Laibach - NATO; Laibach - WTA; and X - Live at the Whiskey a Go-Go. That is a total of 98 mp3's at the 192kb sampling rate. The total cost? $5.25.

Sweet!

You have to prepay before you can start downloading, but that's no big deal when you get so much bang for your buck. I prepaid $25 for 2.5 gigs of songs. I couldn't find a link that said how much music they offered, but I think you can tell from my choices that they have a great variety of stuff.
