Hack Attack Has anyone else seen their systems come under attack in recent days from Philippinos? For the past two days my firewall has been notifying me roughly every 30 to 60 minutes that there was an unsuccessfull TCP/IP port attack using an invalid socket attempt. I have no idea what that means, but each time the IP address has been from the same narrow range and always resolves to some firm in the Philippines. The software categorizes these attacks as Low Risk, but I am getting tired of seeing the alarm go off and am somewhat concerned by the persistent nature of the probings. "Persistent nature of the probings" - Ha! That should be on my refrigerator poetry. |
