School Nonsense Sgt. Stryker has recently had his first run in with the popular public school philosophy of zero-tolerance. The comments to the post are an endless stream of what is wrong with our education system and are a must-read. It's a scary state of affairs in the education system right now. I can only hope that if I am ever blessed with children it will be at a point in my life where home schooling is a viable alternative for my family. If it is not, I will find a way to pay for my kids to go to some sort of private school be it religious or otherwise. I think that as a child I received a fantastic education at the hands of the Catholic Church. I am grateful that I was not subjected to the mediocrity of the public school system. Twenty-five years ago it was mediocre. It seems to have been all downhill from there. |
